Psychosynthesis

Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.

Simone Weil

Trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London, England, I am primarily influenced by integrative, transpersonal and existential thought. I believe talk therapy can be a map and portal not only for healing through deeper awareness of self, but also facilitate a wider enquiry into meaning and purpose of our individual and collective paths.

Through perceiving, not projecting, one’s inner reality and emotional responses in a safe, non-judgemental environment, I invite an exploration into how past relationships and experience influence choices, beliefs, values and relational belonging in the present.

The invitation is to witness and accept all aspects of self – one’s uniqueness and creative resources, as well as one’s conditioned and raw arousal of defences. This in turn strengthens our psychic container.

Being deeply informed by somatic approaches, I am of the belief that our mind, emotions and body are intricately connected. I therefore find it imperative to bring an awareness of the body in my clinical work; to learn skills to regulate the nervous system and to heal trauma residues situated in the body. This practice enables a more integrated lived experience.

I am attentive to an individual’s familial lineage, culture and race, together with one’s gender identity and sexual orientation.

When beneficial, I include family and systemic constellations, guided imagery and art therapy into the enquiry.
